چکیده
Abstract My career has included astrophysics and space physics, always with a theoretical emphasis. first papers calculated nuclear reaction rates in dense stars, particularly neutron but I branched out to other areas or astrophysics. However, most of my work was the plasma physics magnetosphere ionosphere Earth. The central theme is Rice Convection Model (RCM). This paper very briefly describes development RCM, which involved many colleagues over course more than 50 years, our understanding magnetospheric advanced dramatically. this present not organized terms chronicle technical advances. Advice to an aging scientist.
Fifty years ago, Peter Medawar and George Williams developed two now-classic theories for the evolution of senescence. In the past 20 years, evolutionary biologists studying aging have developed explicit mathematical models of these theories, used these models to derive explicit predictions, and tested these predictions using a variety of approaches. But, we argue here, our singular focus on th...
متن کاملAdvice to a young scientist (by someone who doesn’t know how to give it)
While trying to extract original and general advice from the details of my career, I realized this might not be possible. My path, like those of so many others, had too many idiosyncratic twists and turns that had to work out just the way they did to be mined for generally useful strategies. So I abandon the conceit of advice and simply give you my story. There are many like it, but this one is...
متن کاملA young scientist to watch.
There are many rewards associated with serving as the Editor of the Journal of Environmental Quality ( JEQ), but I have experienced very few that compare with the pleasure associated with writing this Letter from the Editor introducing you to a new young scientist that you should keep an eye on. On 7 September 2010, I received an e-mail from ASA Editorin-Chief Dr. Warren Dick containing a PDF f...

A plant Photosystem I (PSI) is a large membrane super-complex that drives photosynthesis. PSI captures sunlight through sophisticated pigment network and uses the energy to perform transmembrane electron transfer. It consists of the reaction center complex (RC), where the charge separation reaction takes place and the light harvesting complex (LHCI), which serves as an additional antenna system...
متن کاملShine on, Young Physician-Scientist.
Physician-scientists have been recognized as an important piece for the advancement of medicine by being translators of medical research. Despite this recognized role, physician-scientists in the United States have decreased from 5% of all physician workforce in 1987 to 1.5% in 2014. Why, in spite of their relevance, have physician-scientists become a rara avis in medical research? It is a comp...
